Why Use Desiccants?

desiccant

Moisture trapped inside a wrapped object can cause condensation to form when air temperatures fall below the dew point, leading to pools of water collecting within the wrap. This water could possibly be in contact with the object creating conditions likely to enhance corrosion or other problems.

In addition, plastic films are permeable to water vapor to some extent, and for goods in longer term storage, water vapor penetrating the film can also cause condensation issues.

Desiccants provide a simple means to remove the trapped moisture. Types of Desiccants (non-chloride)
